The Weather Chapel appears during the chase for Rage. It is a dead end, which Xoxz correctly predicts will appeal to someone who understands speed well enough to value the rare experience of having nowhere left to go. The book does not pause to explain its rites, builders, or forecast machinery. Urgency is often rude to architecture in this way.

Weather chapels once joined observation, shelter, civic timing, and whatever the Vey considered reverence. This surviving chamber contains worn channels at several hand heights, a shallow floor basin, and a wall whose mineral layers respond differently to heat. Edge residents leave no permanent offerings because anything blocking airflow is removed by the next practical visitor.
The chapel’s dead end is a modern condition. A collapsed continuation lies beyond the rear wall, but opening it would alter the pressure that preserves the remaining surface. Local guides therefore describe the closure as both damage and maintenance, depending on whether the listener has brought tools.
